Ethical Responsibilities to Children
I-1.3 To recognize and respect the unique qualities, abilities, and potential of each child.
We have to realize each child can learn and each child learn differently.
Ethical Responsibilities to Families
I-2.2 To develop relationships of mutual trust and create partnerships with the families we serve.
We have to build trust with each parent , when we have trust then we will have respect.
Ethical Responsibilities to Colleagues
I-3A.1 To establish and maintain relationship of respect, trust, confidentiality, collaboration, and cooperation with co-workers.
At the work site their is always different feuds going on but we have to be the example for our children and many of us forget we have a code of ethical to respect each other.
I agree with your statement "When we have trust, we will have respect"
ReplyDeleteIf a parent or child is not comfortable with you or does not trust you, you can not form a relationship or gain respect.
Hi Cassie,
ReplyDeleteI agree with your arguments. I think it is very imporant that we gain trust from the families we work with. When parents believe that we are working hard to teach their children, they trust us to do that.
I-3A.1
ReplyDeletePersonality conflicts can turn into feuds at the work place. When our center was in 'baby-sitting' mode, there were many conflicts and some required me to dismiss staff members. I have found that as the staff members learned more about the importance of the child's development they started collaborating more and began to over look personal differences. It's not an over night process though.
I love the blocks.
